This is just a note of thanks. I had a really rough winter with illness that heavily limited my ability to be out and interacting with the daily 'stuff' that is our town. Your/our station allowed me to stay in touch and in many other ways let me have a measure of interaction. I just want to say THANKS! Very well done & you just might underestimate how powerful and helping you really are. I know, having talked to others, that my story is really not so unique. Proud of ya!
I was driving back to Niagara from a weekend camping trip in Algonquin Park. I don’t know how but your station was on the radio as soon as I got back into my car. Classified’s O Canada was playing. Once that was finished a lady spoke about the next set list was going to be from artist’s who preformed “The Last Waltz” I believe that’s what it was called anyway.
I was hoping you could send me that playlist so I could look into them more. Especially the first song, I don’t mind the rain, WOW.
Great job, keep up the great work, wish we had more stations like yours down here.

How many radio stations have an illuminated sign in a front window that reads “OPEN”? And how many radio stations have a notice on the front door that asks visitors to enter quietly because “we may be on the air”?
@Hunters Bay Radio, 88.7, in Huntsville, Ontario, is such a station.
During the twenty-four hours that I was in town, I listened frequently to its music, news and information programming. The music was eclectic because it was comprised of selections that their on-air personalities had chosen to play; the information programming was interesting because it consisted of interviews with local personalities and officials; and the newscasts were informative because the staff presented a series of well-prepared stories.
The newscasts described events of local importance: a court order that closed a restaurant, due to fire safety violations; the installation of a Siemens X-ray machine at the local hospital, that will result is shorter wait times for patients; and the line-up of musicians for this year’s “Concert on the Dock” series. (“Concerts are free, but bring a lawn chair, and a toonie for the musicians.”)
Many radio professionals lament that radio programming has become too centralized and controlled by consultants (“CON-sultants,” as one radio person cynically described them).
Not so with the music at this station.
The station has three paid staff and 60 volunteers. Although the staff are almost exclusively amateurs, there is nothing amateurish about the programming. Hunters Bay Radio fulfills the goals that community radio aspires to achieve, and it is worth a listen. (http://www.muskokaonline.com/ )
Here in Midland, listening to Johnny Cash "Rusty Cage" on @huntersbayradio 88.7FM, loving every second. Thx 4 being the best #station in ON.
I discovered your station while camped back in the bush north of Huntsville searching for good tunes on the radio. I cannot tell you how refreshing your format is, reggae, rock, blues, country, bluegrass, big band, classical! Real radio... thought it was dead thanks to Chorus Radio who has destroyed all formats it owns! I live in Flesherton ON and listen religiously on the net. Please do not change a thing. I will destroy my radio if you do! Sirius.ca is OK but lacks the hometown feeling of your station. Keep it alive. BTW am a 63 yr old retired male who loves all forms of music. Damn fine station
First of all, I wanted to commend you on your station. What a nice change from the standard format of many of the local stations. I enjoy the variety of music, features and promotion of local talent. Well done. BTW I am a "senior" age listener.
I've been introduced to some really interesting artists through your programming. On Sunday, June 25th, I caught the last part of a song that was playing at approximately 4:30 p.m. I didn't catch the name of the female artist, but a beautiful song. I wondered if possible you could send me the name of the artist and the song.
Thank you - keep up the good work!

My husband discovered this station several weeks ago and we listen to nothing but now. Where else are you gonna hear Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield ?? Listening to that right now and laughed at the comment " I hear this is what you listen to when you dropped acid in the '70s". We have told many people about this station. Love it. Keep it playin!!
Also love the Sunday night kind of oldies tunes. Great dinner music.

First - we are really big fans of your station. Thanks for being there.
Question: On Thursday evening, we heard a bluesy version of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean. I think it was live. We couldn't figure out who the performer was. It was so great, we want to learn more.
Would anyone at the station remember who this fellow is? If so, please pass it on, so we can follow other stuff he does.
Please, keep doing what you're doing. Every bit is just perfect!
I feel so privileged that we have the best radio station with the greatest music right here in Muskoka.....thanks for all your hard work..
Yes! Now some English Beat - I'm working today... at the computer dancing while I work!
I just started listening to the station yesterday - think I'm going to be a regular.
I also listen to BBC6 a lot and there are a lot of similarities in terms of your diverse content.
On behalf of my husband and myself, I want to say a great big thank you for an awesome radio station. We love everything about it. The Keeping it Country with Arleen the all request breakfast by a wonderful young man ( sure he will go far hard to believe he is so young and so full of knowledge, keep up the great work Richard) Your talk shows are informative. The host of all the shows are great. Love the huge variety of music that fills my home each and every day. Big thanks to each and everyone of you at Hunters Bay.
I'm truly loving this late-nite Sunday playlist, listening from Midland. Amazing stuff. Keep it up.
I heard Blue Jean Outlaw by the Chris Duarte Group and enjoy what this band can do. I just wanted to share what I heard. Thanks for all your great work at this station, This is now my current listening station at work.
Having a blast dancing to the tunes this morning.
Okay. So that was probably one of the most fun experiences I have ever had. I will no doubt remember being a guest on "K on the Bay", Hunters Bay Radio for the rest of my life! Such nice people, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It really did feel like we were just chatting. Anyway, thanks to the host Kareen, and the Hunters Bay Radio crew, for such a wonderful morning. Truly, thank you!
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the talk show in the morning which is Kay on the Bay. I find it so interesting!
Also love the different kinds of music. Not the same old thing over and over. Keep up the good work!
Just found you guys by accident looking around the dial to see who was playing the least lame music...
The dock.rock95 you know the drill...just waiting for Randy to start his show on CBC......then all of a sudden there was a great song followed by another then another followed by guess what? Two hours of more of the same....this harkens back to my days in England listening to Radio Caroline or Pirate Radio.....are you kidding me? You guys managed to get the CRTC to approve something this Awesome!!!!@.....and I bet your not even owned by Chorus or Chumcity....You can play me anything ( even Steve Miller twice in a row) just dont bore me!!!!!! You havent yet and my guess is you wont...Too bad Im not planning on dying or buying a hashpipe or a Ram Truck tonight because If I was I would spend money at your sponsors....just to keep you guys on the air.....I'd be happy to chip in for a subscription if thats what it would take to keep it happening......just to give you terms of reference...I was 16 yrs old in 1969 when I saw Led Zepplin perform their first album in its entirety on New Years Eve at The Rock Pile in Toronto.....The year before I saw Hendrix with Soft Machine and Vanilla Fudge at the Coloseum at the Ex.....ok so now a little set list request....."Truckers Cafe" by Canada's Great Speckled Bird (featuring Sylvia Tyson) this this track has the best pedal steel guitar solo ever recorded in Canada in my opinion......any of the tracks which Hendrix played on by the Isley Brothers ..(he played on all of their biggest hits...then bring it home with "Time" by The Chambers Bros....you guys are doing something very amazing for us musicians and not filling your cancon obligations because you have to but because you believe in the music...
From the bottom of my heart.
Good afternoon. Every morning when I wake up I listen to your radio. It gives me energy and good mood for the whole day. Now I can not imagine my normal day without your radio. My whole family also listens to your radio. With thanks and best wishes your regular listener.

Thanks to Jay Johnston and his guests who put a smile on my face each Tuesday morning with Corrie Chat on Hunters Bay Radio. Great show!
....being a country music person, and a guitar payer love it
Thanks for playing some tracks off my new CD. A million thanks and we are listening out here in Alberta.
As a former hockey coach and friend of Sean Cotton, I’m listening to his show for the 1st time. His Dad forgot to remind us, via facebook, of the show. Can’t get the station here in Wiarton through radio so I’m listening in by the computer.
I am thoroughly enjoying your station and some of the characters you have doing your live bits. I am a fan
By happy accident we found you. What a surprise. We couldn't understand why we were getting such great jazz music that night. We were saying to ourselves wouldn't it be great if it was a new underground station with good taste. Finally heard you mention Hunters Bay Radio and voila ....I'm listening all the time now. Huntsville is now a very cool place. Good luck with it all. We will be avid supporters. All the best from a retired Advertising Exec,
My family simply loves listening to your "all request" Satruday morning show with Richard Phillips.
Could you incorporate more smooth jazz please?
I am proud to live in the same town as Hunters Bay Radio broadcasts from... Listen in...
GREAT STATION, WONDERFUL PEOPLE, FANTASTIC MUSIC...BCRE.
Great job guys! Love the D.J.s...love the music choices, love the interviews, love the live shows, good all round radio station.

I stumbled upon your radio station while driving home from Toronto today and wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I listened for as long as I had reception and whoever makes the playlist for the Oh Canada! program has great taste. There were a few artists in particular that really caught my interest and I'd like to delve deeper into their catalogs but I can't remember the names and haven't been able to find any information on the web site so I was hoping that it might be possible to get a copy of the playlist for today's show. Much appreciated and keep up the good work! In this day and age of souless top 40 garbage its nice to hear some original & interesting music.
Thank you so much for the assistance Jeff Carter and for Hunter Bay's response. It was a successful day, fun for all and great for fundraising. It always helps to get the word out.
