Film North Kicks Off to Rave Reviews

Film North kicked off Thursday night in stylish fashion showcasing four documentaries; one of which was a world premiere. The evening was met with great enthusiasm and was a giant success.
Afterwards the audience was treated to a question and answer period with a film crew and directors from two of the docs. The night proved very insightful and brought forth many questions about sustainability and the future of renewable energy and our resources in Muskoka and Ontario: As well the night shone some light onto the harsh conditions the people of Kenya are facing in an area hit hardest by global deforestation and climate change in "Carbon for Water". Swimming freely outside the evenings hard hitting lineup was the short film "fish", which took a lighthearted look at the juxtaposition between us and them.
The festival continues today and Saturday from 10 AM till 10 PM and hosts a wide variety of films for all tastes.
