SPCA Removes 47 Cats From Womans House

A former Muskoka Lakes woman plead guilty to failing to provide adequate and appropriate medical attention and permitting distress to a number of cats in her care.

The charges were filed by the OSPCA following an investigation that resulted in 47 cats being entered into its care.  The cats were examined by Veterinarians and found to be suffering from a variety of conditions including: poor body condition, stunted growth, flea and ear mite infestation, poor grooming, diarrhea, dental disease, eye disorders, chronic-active upper respiratory and ocular infections.

Deborah Pennock, 60, of Pentanguishene was ordered to pay $4500 restitution to the SPCA.
