The town will be holding a special council meeting on August 13th to get input for the next municipal election. Councilor Withey has been pitching the idea of electing ward councilors at large and council would like to hear from residents about their idea and other possibilities before moving forward.
Withey has been pitching the idea of doing away with ward boundaries for the purpose of elections, allow residents to contact any councilor in town for assistance. There has been some concern around the council table of in-equitable representation based on population sizes of certain wards.
Councilors are looking for input from residents on August 13th at the Active Living Centre at 7pm.
