The Ontario Government approved plans for a hydro plant beside Bala Falls yesterday.  The Ministry of Environment's Assessment and Approvals Branch approved the updated environmental report by Swift River Energy Limited for the proposed North Bala Falls facility.

There is still an appeals process for individuals who previously filed objections. The appeal deadline is October 15. The Minister of Environment will then review any appeals and issue a decision.
