After looking at thousands of towns to identify one town in each of 5 regions, Parry Sound was given the distinction by Google Canada of being the town that most demonstrated a strong engagement and potential for growth in the digital economy by the Search Engine giant.

Parry Sound Muskoka MP Tony Clement accepted the award on behalf of the town, said that Parry Sound is a community that has gone out of its way to embrace the digital economy.   Parry Sound is a great example of what can be accomplished he said.
