Withey Pitches Election Reforms Tonight At Special Council Meeting

The town will be holding a special council meeting tonight to present different options for the upcoming municipal election. Councilor Withey has been pitching the idea of electing ward councilors at large and council would like to hear from residents abouttheir idea and other possibilities before moving forward.

Withey has been pitching theidea of doing away with ward boundaries for the purpose of elections, allowing residents to contact any councilor in town for assistance. There has been some concern around the council table of in-equitable representation based on population sizes of certain wards.

The meeting takes place atthe Active Living Centre at 7pm.
