Deadline looms for comments on proposed soil washing facility in Gravenhurst

Terranevo Soil Resources has applied to establish a new soil management facility in Gravenhurst.
The facility aims to receive, store, and process excess soil from construction projects in Ontario using a soil washing plant.
Processed soil will be blended with pit sands or transferred to approved treatment facilities.
Excess soil is classified as waste under Ontario's Environmental Protection Act.
Gravenhurst residents have until midnight on March 16 to provide feedback on a proposal for a new Environmental Compliance Approval for the new waste disposal site in town.
