District offering free tax preparation to qualifying residents
The District of Muskoka announced the return of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program for the 2024 tax season last week.
The program relies on volunteers to assist eligible individuals with modest incomes and simple tax situations and is registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency.
Last year, volunteers processed 1,896 tax returns, underscoring the vital role these clinics play in supporting the financial well-being of Muskoka residents.
To be eligible, residents must reside in Muskoka and meet the family income threshold outlined on the District’s website at www.muskoka.on.ca/incometaxclinics.
